The Best Hold 'Em Games OnlineThe best Hold 'Em game is the one that resembles the ocean, that is to say full of fish. A fish is the kind of guy who wanders into a poker room after seeing the World Poker Tour on the travel channel. He's the guy who asks you if a straight beats a flush, and he stays on 3-8 off suited because two cards are as good as any other. He also stays until the river because he figures he still has an out left to suck out and why shouldn't the last card be his card?
Online poker is full of fish, but you have to know where to cast the reel. Fortunately, MasterBets can help out with that particular problem. All you have to do is join up with the poker room in question and start fishin'.
The ultimate nightmare of any online poker player is that he gets caught up in a game where he is out of his depth and doesn't even know it. It has happened to all of us who are serious about the game of Hold 'Em. If I go to Commerce or Binions I can see Phil Hellmuth or Phil Ivey or even Gus Hansen long before they see me, and when they see me they won't really give a damn, and who can balme them. Online one is not as lucky sometimes, and while the chances of running into a WSOP champion is slim, the chances of duking it out with a poker pro are considerably higher, and trust me, you'll land up the same way - broke, angry and dazed.
Golden Riviera Poker
Golden Riviera Poker is part of a large network of sites who all bring in their own players, mainly from online casinos, and they then play against one another in one centralized card room. This means that there are a lot of fish. Playing poker against these guys is the match-up you should be dreaming of late at night. Plus, Golden Riviera Poker has nice promo specials to tide you over.
These include: High Hand of the Day:
If you get the highest hand of the day, in hold 'em, using both hole cards, you receive $250. Normally a royal flush is required to win this.
Bad Beat Jackpot:
Golden Riviera Poker has a standard Bad Beat Jackpot where if you lose with quads or better, you receive 1/2 of the BBJ. The winner of the hand gets 1/4 and the rest of the table splits the other 1/4. The BBJ starts at $500 and $50 is added to it daily until it is hit.
Magic Hand:
A number is assigned to each hand dealt at within the Prima Poker Network. From time to time Prima Poker management picks a hand number at random in advance and declares it a Magic Hand and establishes what the prizes will be! When that magic hand is dealt, the winner of the hand wins the main prize and all other players in the game each get a second bonus amount. But, if you sit out you don't qualify.
Next week we'll take a look at Party Poker, the largest online poker room that is a bit of a double-edged sword. There are a lot of poor players swimming about here, but the trouble is you're not going to be the first guy to work this out. There are sharks at these tables as well, and it is our contention that more pros play here than anywhere else (Paradise Poker doesn't count because it seems like the good players on that site might be shills). Tune in next week for more!
