November 29 - The independent standards authority for the online gambling industry, eCommerce and Online Gambling Regulation and Assurance (eCOGRA) has announced that Bill Henbrey has joined its board as an independent director.
A chartered accountant and former partner with London accounting firm BDO Stoy Hayward, Henbrey headed up the firm's betting, gaming, hospitality and leisure units.
With over 30 years of experience in the?financial advisory and business assurance aspect of online gambling and land casino operations, Henbrey is expected to contribute greatly to the eCOGRA board.
Said Henbrey, 'I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of eCOGRA, particularly right now when online gambling standards and the conduct of online casinos are under the microscope in many parts of the world.
'I view my appointment to the eCOGRA board as a wonderful opportunity to contribute to the online gambling industry in terms of raising its profile and levels of performance, as well as ensuring and maintaining the highest levels of fair and responsible gaming across the board,' he said.
In 2000 Henbrey was honoured by CBI and Real Business magazine when it awarded him the 'Best Business Adviser to Growing Businesses' title.
